2degrees is a network for those professionally involved in climate change issues. It is largely UK based.

Climate Ark is a climate change portal and search engine.

Greenpeace.

REUK provides references to current articles on renewable energy relevant to the United Kingdom.

New Economics Foundation is a London based think-tank concerned with the ‘triple crunch’ of financial crisis, climate change and oil depletion.

US Environmental Protection Agency provides a good summary of the science behind global warming and gives many relevant statistics.

Renewable Energy Association represents renewable energy producers in the UK and promotes the use of sustainable energy.

Forum for the Future is a sustainable development charity in the UK.

UK National

Sustainable Energy – without the hot air is a stimulating discussion with a UK focus by Cambridge physicist David MacKay. His book has received glowing reviews and is available for free downloading.

Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) does research, education, and offers support for renewable and sustainable technologies. It has interesting exhibitions. many of them interactive. Its comprehensive report Zero Carbon Britain 2030, offering an integrated set of proposals backed up by a wealth of data, is free to download.

National Energy Foundation works for sustainable energy solutions for the UK.

UK Government Department of Energy and Climate Change.

PRASEG is the All-Party Parliamentary Renewable and Sustainable Energy Group, a cross-party group for UK politicians and senior industry stakeholders that exists to promote sustainable energy issues in Parliament and the wider political community.

Standard Assessment Procedure 2012 covers the method for reporting the energy efficiency of buildings in the UK.

Transition Network is the new name for Transition Towns. It aims to supply a model for responding to the twin challenges of Peak Oil and Climate Change.

COIN the Climate Outreach & Information Network is a UK charity dedicated to educating the public about climate change.

Sustainable Wallingford, Sustainable Wantage and Abingdon Carbon Cutters are local groups committed to making their areas more environmentally sustainable and reducing their ecological impact.

Thatcham Good Life is intent on meeting our obligations on climate change while enjoying more from life.

University of Reading Energy Group is a centre for energy studies.

Oxfordshire Community Action Groups (CAG) supports Sustainable Blewbury. We are members, along with many other local, voluntary groups, is a member of Oxfordshire Community Action Group. It provides support for local organisations to organise events and initiatives to raise awareness and take action on climate change issues including waste reduction, carbon reduction, sustainable transport, and food, energy and water issues to live a more sustainable and less resource dependent life in their local community.

West Berkshire Green Exchange: Similar to CAG Oxfordshire, and holds some interesting events.

Fuel oil for central heating can be bought at a discounted price via the Oil Syndicate (email: colin@oil-syndicate.co.uk). Another possibility is the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council’s bulk oil-buying scheme.

Southern Hydropower is a Blewbury company which develops small water powered systems.

Marine Current Turbines develop turbines for tidal streams.
